"You may never know what results come from your action. But if you do nothing, there will be no result." Mahatma Gandhi
Thoughts from a Fostering Family cracked me up this morning.

I was very awake this morning. You remember on "Thelma & Louise" when they are driving and Thelma says "I feel very awake". That was me.
I kind of reminds me of a bible story where the scales are removed from a guy's eyes. He truly SAW that day. (Not that I truly remember that story- I have blocked out A LOT of the religious schooling that was drilled into my brain since birth)
This time of year is just perfect to truly SEE again.
In the 20 mile drive between my kids' schools, I passed Phoenix Lake. Absolutely gorgeous!!
The morning light made the gold leaves of the black oaks glow. They glowed against the damp, dripping green needles of the pines. The reeds that surround the lake were orange and yellow and red, standing tall and straight, almost like sentries, guarding the small ducks paddling around the water's edge. Serene, peaceful.
In my car, after dropping my son off I observed birds bathing in a puddle. They sprayed water into the air. The droplets merged with the steam of the first frost melting into the sunlight.
I saw this morning. I SAW the beauty that the Earth gives us every day. A gift. My gift.
