Thank god there are people out there who write what I think but in no way can convey to others.
As some of you know, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer this summer. There is now a vaccine for some strains of HPV that have been known to CAUSE cervical cancer. Texas has made this vaccine mandatory. I have a daughter..... what do I do?

Celebrating All Families posted a pic of her dream house like FosterAbba did. I'm going to also. I can't seem to find the perfect picture though. Here is the closest thing. I want mountains in the background and a view out the front of my southern exposed wraparound covered porch. Nine foot tall ceilings with crown molding, old hardwood floors and a laundry chute, definitely a laundry chute. Are there automatic washing machines yet to go with that laundry chute?
Or maybe this one....
A pond would be nice..............
But we all know I live in California, I will be lucky to own this...

Though I disagree with it being mandatory, I am a supporter of the vaccine. Yes, boys also get and pass HPV but do not suffer the severity of effects from it. It is currently focused on the females for that reason (and, certainly, monetary reasons considering production issues).
Yes, there are political pitfalls but I remain a supporter. I get no kickbacks, it is just my opinion and we don't all have to agree.
Thank You CJ- I was wondering what you would think of this. I would like to see how things go, I have time w/ daughter being only 6 but on one hand I'm wary of vaccines, on the other, there is no way in heck I want her to end up with cervical cancer.
I also agree with CJ. I do not believe in it being mandatory, but do support the vaccine. As with any new drug/vaccine, there are side effects to be concerned about, politics involved, as well as the battles between drug companies trying to make a profit. But this is something that I would really consider for my daughters.
On the dream house note, I lived in California and totally get your last picture (lived in Monterey, so that would have been a half a million dollar house, haha)! My dream house would also have mountains all around, a lake or pond to skate on in the winter, and a great porch.
I love the house. I have always wanted a wrap-around porch too.
Also onboard with the vaccine, but mandatory?? hmmm??
The new look is great -- I love that you incorporated your pic from your crazy day. A little oasis in the midst of life's busy-ness.
I actually LOVE the pic of the wee red house! I want one! Looks like your dream house will have to have a nice, big full front porch - complete with porch swing! And, a nice servant to bring cold lemonade when youre thirsty!! Great idea!
don't know about making the vaccine mandatory--I too worry about over vaccinating.
Now--those dreams houses you're picking will surely have the knob and tube in them! :)
secret agent-
I know! Aren't I weird? I've always liked things I know aren't good for me.. the bad boys, houses with knob and tube, chocolate peanut butter ice cream.....
I was diagnosed with CC just over a year ago too!
I may be in your shoes shortly...any suggestions about what I should make sure my doc does to follow up the possibility of me having cervical CA? (feel free to pop on over to my blog and leave me a list if necessary..I accept all input :)
I love both the houses..actually there are alot like that where I live..they are even priced so real people can live in them :) Ohio is a wee bit less expensive than California :)
