So here I am on a Tuesday. Its really a Monday. I've had two Mondays in a Row. What else can possibly go wrong now?

So- this weekend my son's $900.00 dental work just fell out!!! Just had it done. You'd think for $900.00 it would be done right. Right? I call the dentist office and leave a message.

After not sleeping all Sunday night (b/c my daughter got stung by a bee and her foot swelled up to the size of a football), I get a call at 7am.

"I know we're working with a school schedule here but can you get little Johnny in here by 9:30 am? We would like to fix his tooth."

Yeah, Ok sure. Do you know what it takes to take a child out of school these days? An act of Congress I'm telling you.

Anyway- I send him to school b/c I don't want him to miss one second of class more than he has to. The teacher is already on my ass. An hour later I'm there to pick him up. After signing my name to at least 10 pages of documents we are out the door. I am now very familiar w/ school "protocol".

Guess what? The jerks decide that it is not their fault that the dental work came out. They want to charge me another $500.00 and "Oh, by the way we found two more cavities we must have missed."

What!?! I don't think so. After fighting with the eye rolling, sigh heaving receptionist for 15 min I get a waiver of the fees and go.

This is a Monday right? Aren't I supposed to be working? Well yes, I say!! I drop off little Johnny back at chool and I make it back home to my "home office" in the kitchen and fax a few documents.

Then I get another call....

"Yes, Mrs. SoandSo? We would like you to come in at 11:30am to be present for your son's speech evaluation." OK.

My youngest son, who has just come to us a year ago from Russia, doesn't talk yet. He understands everything-doesn't like to talk (We are still working through many things). OK- so I call daycare provider "Don't pick Ivan up from pre-school, we will be having a speech evaluation". Done.

Jump into truck and go up the hill to pre-school. "Oh, Mrs. SoandSo, we only need you to be here for the evaluation, not Ivan." Well, what the heck is an evaluation without the child it involves? A lengthy one. Another 10 pages signed.

Drop Ivan off at daycare.

Turn cell phone back on- 32 missed calls, 15 messages.

Spend another 3 hours on phone. Spend another hour faxing and placating.

Another call. "Hey! We have a problem" says buyers agent. "Sewer has backed up at your listing. What to do?"

I call company to come out. "Geez ma'am this is a mess, we'll get right on this. We have you booked for a fix in three weeks". Did you know that escrow closes in 1 week? Yep, you got it! I'm screwed.

So- it's 6 o'clock and I'm late to pick up kids. Now I will be fined for being late.

Pick up kids. Pay fine.

Make dinner.

Husband has meeting with his siblings over family crisis. Not home until gravy is congealed and chicken stone cold.

Little Johnny forgot his homework at school. Daughter has lost Care Bear backpack and new school jacket. Ivan still not talking. Give baths and put in bed.

They ALL end up in bed with me. Think I got any sleep?

Today started quite early. The day isn't over so- I will continue the saga of the backed up sewer later.
