Warning- You may just want to stop reading here. Angry Rant from this line down.
I'm pretty dang bummed today. I feel great for the people FINALLY receiving a referral today. But For Cryin' Out Loud! What does this look like for the rest of us? It seems to me China Adoption is going to he** in a shopping cart! With wheels sprayed liberally with WD-40! My homestudy expires in January. My fingerprints in February and my I 171-h not too far after that. I am not the only one here! There are THOUSANDS of us in the same position.
My husband and I are looking at the Special Needs program again. Again. If we are not accepted we will let this thing ride until we EXPIRE as potential international adoptive parents and go the Foster Adopt route. Especially as we look at the costs and time and health and heartache issues we are going through and thinking about lately. We did try the Fost - Adopt route before but were told that we weren't great candidates because we were looking for a single child not siblings. Was it really because their fees are MORE for international home studies? Was it bottom line reasoning with them? I HATE it that adoption is such a business; a profit producing MESS. Should I really be ranting about this under the headline of adoption awareness month? Well isn't this making someone aware that Adoption is completely frustrating and a paperwork disaster?

I saw this on one of the Advertisements on the Rumor Queen~ I almost gagged first thing this morning-

Help Orphans and Abandoned Children
DELIVER THEM FROM EVIL
AAAhhhhh! Deliver ME from this kind of Marketing!!!! I can't take it!!!!!
Would you call it exploitation? Evil? Evil?
Last Thing~
Got an e-mail from an agency my friend is going through for her adoption. I've actually spoken with the woman who is the director- she is VERY nice and patient. But I am terribly upset that it says that siblings can be separated. I see what it has done to my son and his sisters and I think that it is reprehensible to split the kids up. They usually only had each other to depend on in the first place!

Thank you sooo much for stopping by my blog - we, too were concerned that in fostering to adopt we would not gte placements b/c we would not take more than 1 child. We were amazed at how many calls we got (and turned down more than we took). We were amazed even though we were warned it would be "hard to get just one".
