I'm trying to be more consistent on this blog thing. My daughter is whining right now. It seems there is no time to do this. I saw earlier that someone's blog is actually called "Who really has time for this?" No kidding.

Daughter says "I didn't have any fun today." Told her to go play with her little brother. He's the one over on the couch with the broken leg. Yes, the broken leg.

While I was out taking a listing my youngest fell off the slide at daycare and got a spiral fracture of his leg. What really lays on the guilt is that the whole day my intuition was saying "pick Ivan up early. Pick Ivan up early." Well... Should've listened. Don't you hate that?

So- after finally getting Ivan into a speech class he missed several appointments until we could get to the orthopedic surgeon to put a REAL cast on his leg. The clinic had thought he might need surgery. What is weird is- since he has broken his leg, he has been talking like a little magpie.

The speech specialist has said that Ivan has Apraxia. I had never heard of it. It seems that the little ones know what they want to say it just gets mixed up from their brain to their mouth. They told me that he will always be one of the rare people who have to THINK before they speak. Well, he'll certainly be nothing like me then.

Oh, by the way... We have changed little Johnny's school. Yep we did. Husband and I went to parent/teacher conf & Teacher didn't even know son's name. He was there in the room!!! Kept showing us another child's grades and calling our son a different name. We corrected her several times. Still didn't get it. What really upset me is that I had volunteered to go on a field trip with the class in October this last year. The boy's name that she kept calling my son was assigned to me in my group. The teacher had told me he was a trouble maker and she assigned him to me b/c I have 3 kids and she knew I could handle it. Hmmmmm.

So we are TRYING to get him in a private school. They need two weeks to assess him. It is a Waldorf School. Ever heard of them? I'm very impressed. They seem to have a lot of views that I have. Ever since the kids have been born we have not subscribed to cable, satellight etc. We still have a TV and DVD/VHS. We are getting rid of those now too though. I found a really interesting paper on TV and our children's minds by Susan R. Johnson, MD, FAAP. A good and scary read if your interested.

Needless to say even with the very limited viewing of TV that little Johnny has had, we are taking him down to get his hearing and auditory processing evaluated.

Has anyone else noticed that things are a bit odd the last few months? It is like our universe is trying to readjust.

Have I told everyone that we've started the process for another adoption? Yep. We are gluttons punishment in some peoples eyes. Me, I think we're gluttons for unconditional hugs and kisses.
