In other news.....

Of course my agency called me with questions for me re: a possible placement while I was helping our kindergarten teacher move the furniture out of her class because of a rather severe water leak from the last storm. I've been sitting on the damn phone trying to hatch the sucker for 3 years and when they finally call I'm gone!!!!!!!!!!!

Found out the SW is leaning toward couple with no children for placement anyway. Good for them, bummer for us.

As some of you know, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer this summer. There is now a vaccine for some strains of HPV that have been known to CAUSE cervical cancer. Texas has made this vaccine mandatory. I have a daughter..... what do I do?

Celebrating All Families posted a pic of her dream house like FosterAbba did. I'm going to also. I can't seem to find the perfect picture though. Here is the closest thing. I want mountains in the background and a view out the front of my southern exposed wraparound covered porch. Nine foot tall ceilings with crown molding, old hardwood floors and a laundry chute, definitely a laundry chute. Are there automatic washing machines yet to go with that laundry chute?

1. Love- I love LOVE. I know I'm a sap but can't you just hear the Beatles crying "All you need is love" out of your stereo speakers or Ipod or whatever it is nowadays....





2. Legos- kids play with them for hours.





3. Licorice- there is a candy store here that still hand makes their own candy. They have THE best licorice drops (and I'm not EVEN a fan of the mass made licorice or the black jelly beans but these drops are damn good). Makes me think of the time when my cousin in Germany took me to a pharmacy there and gave me these candies I thought were licorice (and tasted totally vile but I ate them out of politeness) and they ended up to be some sort of laxative- oh god he thought he was so funny until the next year when he visited US and I gave him chocolaty EX LAX! Hah!





4. The word Lugubriousness- don't you just love to say it? I'm not a big fan of its meaning though.





5. Leopard- one of the most beautiful creatures on Earth.





6. Lists- I have lists for my lists. Doesn't mean I follow them or cross things off on them. I have lists sitting everywhere in my house. My purse is filled with them. Come on you psychologists... what does this mean?





7. Love Actually- my absolute favorite movie of all time (as of right now).





8. Lupine- Native flowers of my home. They grow all over the roadsides on the way to Yosemite.





9. Light bulbs- those natural light ones. Especially in winter when the rain and snow seems like it will never stop. (plus DH just came in here to get one and reminded me)





10. Laughter- A child's giggle, a really good belly laugh, a shared laugh, laughing until you cry (or in my case pee my pants- doesn't happen often I swear!) People's laughs are like their fingerprints, they are all uniquely different.

Know what kinda bums me out? I forgot to put library- one of my MOST favorite things.

Best Chuck Norris Moment — 13 May. Bad Guys arrived at the government center in a small town to kidnap the mayor, since they have a problem with any form of government that does not include regular beheadings and women wearing burqahs. There were seven of them. As they brought the mayor out to put him in a pick-up truck to take him off to be beheaded (on video, as usual), one of the Bad Guys put down his machine gun so that he could tie the mayor’s hands. The mayor took the opportunity to pick up the machine gun and drill five of the Bad Guys. The other two ran away. One of the dead Bad Guys was on our top twenty wanted list. Like they say, you can’t fight City Hall.

I Love Pride and Prejudice

Be it the book, TV series or movie- I love Pride and Prejudice. I know this is a shallow topic totally unrelated to any kind of adoption anything. I don't care. This is my blog and I will write what I want!

Yes- I am taking lessons from my 6 yr old daughter. I want what I want when I want it! Got it?

I have immersed myself in all things Austen as I usually do when I have "issues" to contemplate. Last time I made a huge decision about career and a life direction it was with Sense and Sensibility but now..... Pride and Prejudice has it. Or should I say Colin and Matthew have it.

I know this is an "old" discussion as the latest Pride and Prejudice movie came out in 2005. Again, I don't care.

Here was my dilemma. I LOVED the series Colin Firth was in. He was my Mr. Darcy. My husband whom I love with all my heart bought the one with Matthew Macfadyen in the lead role as Mr. Darcy. It took a while but I have accepted him. Embraced him. It is much like my love for my children. I love them each as much as the other yet I love them each differently because they are different people. Understand?

What is your opinion on the great Darcy debate?

ps- I still like Jennifer Ehle's portrayal of Elizabeth better. Hmmm perhaps I should watch the movie again..
